After my previous post on tithing, some disagreed that tithing is expected of every believer.
Let me rephrase what I said. Tithing should be done by every believer. Tithing is something done out of love for God. Your tithe is not your offering and is different from any other form of giving.
I asked corepastor on twitter for his opinion. Here's a reply.

I agree with corepastor 100%.
So, why should you give God your tithes? Consider it a privilege, an honor, even a form of gratitude to God for being who He is, amongst others.
I have always believed that tithes call for God's unwarranted favor and intervention in accordance to His Word, His promise. Tithes are to be given of your own free will not out of a sense of duty or obligation - The Art of Tithing By Paula Langguth Ryan
Malachi 3:11
I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the LORD of hosts.
Among the many things God is saying through this verse, some are 1.God will rebuke the enemy, the devil for us, so that 2.the enemy will not destroy the fruits (the fruits of the Spirit e.g. Love, Joy, Peace, patience, kindness, long life, etc) of your soil (your spiritual life, physical life, emotional life, etc) 3.and your field (your life, ministry, job, etc) shall not fail to bear, says our Great and Mighty God.
The only question left is, do you have good soil? Better put, are you good soil?
Mark 4:20
But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.
