Here is my take on the profound statement made by St. Augustine in his book, The Enchiridion.
He said "It is the judgment of God which separates the good from the evil".
Some people may think and say that God's judgment is a bad thing.... but it is not. It is only bad if you're not part of God's family. The judgment that God carries out, today, is what separates the good people from the evil people; the judgment that God will carry out when He returns for His children is what will also separate us from the evil people.
Evil people? Are you saying some of you guys are perfect.
Yes and no.
Yes. We're perfect because that's what God sees us who have accepted Christ as Lord as Savior. We're washed in Jesus' blood, so our sins have been erased for good (glory be to God).
No. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23. But we're saved by grace, Ephesians 2:8. So, we're not perfect, but we're now good ;)
Without God's judgment (which is fair, without flaw, partiality, unrighteousness, etc), where will we be today? Imagine how bad the world will be without God taking care of some evil people.
